Manufacturing.net is a fantastic resource for manufacturers of all sizes and industries, probably taking the greatest domain name crown. There are an incredible number of blog pieces published each day, making it a must-read.

2. Apriso.com/blog

This blog's purpose is to "discuss the global industrial change." Supply chain complexity, manufacturing cost reduction, industry threats, etc. are discussed. The posts are never self-promotional, despite being managed by Dassault Systemes; in fact, we counted over 50 contributors who were not associated with the company.

3. Americanmanufacturing.org/blog

If you work in manufacturing, you know about AAM. AAM represents key US manufacturers and steelworkers. The blog focuses on governmental policies that would enhance American manufacturing but also covers infrastructure and innovation. 

Manufacture This means staying ahead of the industry in development and employment. This blog provides industry updates.

4. Industrial Marketing Today

It's obvious from the blog's name that this is a marketing resource for companies in the industrial manufacturing sector. Manufacturers are increasingly relying on content marketing in 2016 as their primary method of promoting their products.

5. Cerasis Blog

To keep up with the latest developments in the transportation business, Cerasis has launched an industry-focused blog. In addition to freight management, the Cerasis blog also discusses technologically-assisted logistics solutions in manufacturing.

For anybody in the industrial manufacturing industry, even if you're not in the freight management sector, this blog is a good resource for trends to look out for, changes in manufacturing strategy, and how technology is transforming the industry – and quickly.

1. 3Dprintingpodcast.com

3D printing and additive manufacturing are often discussed. Many SMMs may not agree. This podcast may change your mind. This privately held, venture capital-backed organization works with the 3D Printing Channel. It was founded by 3D printing executives who decided the technology required its own voice. See if you like it.

2.The Art of Manufacturing

Krisztina "Z" Holly travels behind the scenes of entrepreneurs (typically in manufacturing, but not necessarily) seeking to start a business. It provides wonderful insight into the challenges, problems, and successes for people who have been, are or will be. "Z" hasn't released a new podcast in a while. However, there are several archived ones.

3. Making Chips

This weekly, 45-minute podcast is hosted by Jason Zenger, owner of Zenger's metalworking, and Jim Carr, owner of CARR Machine & Tool. Many manufacturing leaders have praised these two on the website. 

One CEO called it "relevant, enjoyable industrial media," and we agree. The duo also posts videos and essays.

4. Gemba Academy: Lean Thinking

Ron Pereira of Gemba Academy, a lean and six sigma trainer who's worked with 3M, Bristol-Myer Squibb, FedEx, and John Deere, chats weekly with other manufacturing thought-leaders on industry difficulties and solutions. 

You must subscribe to new podcasts or browse hundreds of recordings in the archive. Ron does these when? He keeps them to 20 minutes, which is perfect for those of us with short attention spans.

5. Manufacturing Talk Radio

Manufacturing Talk Radio has 300 podcasts covering all aspects of the sector (one of their podcasts has been downloaded one million times). Lew Weiss and Tim Grady are obviously experts.
